Eh I am extremely irritated. This copy of the Snow Patrol album I’d obtained is faulty. It will play like 42 seconds of each track before exploding into a messy buzz of white noise/static. Tmd, waste my time.

In other news I can’t take my hands off my new toy, though I am perhaps feeling a little intimidated by the variety of options all of a sudden to actually dare to press the shutter to take some pictures. I think I need some subject matter to focus on first.

In midst of reading Mishima’s Confessions of a Mask, which is 100% awesome. Please go read. I want to die every time he delivers a spot on accurate observation with such clarity and poetic grace.

Wow I just finished half a jar of pineapple tarts and it’s not even Chinese New Year. Things like these make me happy.

I was re-reading some of my really old entries (old journals) and it really saddens me how I have dulled away as an individual. I mean, I’ve had my fair share of embarrassing moments, but I also made a healthy number of acute observations, and was able to, if I may say so myself, put them across in a fairly pretty and poetic (!) manner.

I’m trying very hard to make a statement now but I realise that I don’t feel strongly for anything at all right now apart from the fact that I get regularly frustrated when people do not conform to my world views. Even so, the frustration is hardly the fire that is necessary for me to write anything remotely passionate and affecting; rather, it is an irritating, prodding sort of frustration that just bugs me the way a fly keeps returning to tickle one’s skin despite one’s numerous attempts at flicking it off.

The new Rosebuds album was decent but mostly mediocre. The new Hello Saferide album, though, I can see myself listening to over and over again. And I don’t even consider myself to be that big of a folk/twee fan (though to be fair this record leans a lot more to the upbeat end of the pop spectrum than her previous one).

To those wondering, things at the school today generally went well. I should have something firmed by the end of the week. Thanks to all who wished me luck. (:

ADDENDUM

More than ever, I’m feeling that all too familiar feeling - that I don’t know what I want, I only know what I don’t want.

It has been a great weekend for new music. On top of Spangle call Lilli line, which I have managed to listen obsessively all weekend (chalked up 143 listens according to last.fm, wtf!), I have also discovered the awesome record that is the new Leo Imai album that was released earlier this year. It is interesting though - the new SCLL record ISOLATION sounds exuberant despite its restrained piano soundscape, and Imai’s FIX NEON is oddly introspective despite its vast variety of sounds and bouncy beats.

I really need an iPod with a greater capacity. 30gigs just doesn’t cut it, man. Haha.

Jo sent me a word document to view, and on opening it, MS Word was launched - and it struck me again how nice the MS Word Vista interface was. And thusly I am now inspired to write something again. Bad prose/poetry that will never see the light of day, that I will tuck away and turn to for a quick chuckle when I am older and (hopefully) wiser.

Wah I am feeling so much inertia wrt having to travel down to prospective employer’s establishment tmr. Must start being cryptic about things in case things get used against me in future. Am actually semi-tempted to change blogs. Maybe I will once the year is over.

4 days to payday, 70 days till I regain civilian status AW YEAH BAYBEH!!

ADDENDUM

New Rosebuds record? Fuck yeeeaahhh!

In case you were wondering, yes, that is the name of a band, and this is totally +1 for the theory that the quality of music by Japanese bands is directly proportional to the ridiculousness of the band name.

Tonight, I have also resolved to be more together as a person. I somehow think that life as I know it will be different for the better once I get my new camera. I am not quite sure why, but I can feel it.

Actually, I still can’t walk/think/type straight. I have not had a sober moment since…more than 6 hours ago, when I had that 500ml can of Maximator, which is undisputedly the most hardcore beer I have ever had. Predictably, overslept my stop and had to stagger my way home from the interchange, but all is good.

I had a wonderful evening. Aysuria was back in town for a couple of days; we (the family minus Faith) had dinner, walked around and waxed lyrical about life (and ogled at hot guys at the gym near our lao di fang). It was awesome, I’ve missed her so much, as well as Bird and Vic, both of whom I haven’t seen for awhile. Reeech baked chocolate chocolate chip cookies and a v.decadent chocolate cake. Both were orgasm-inducing to the max and v. well received by us. It was just all very nice.

After that I went to find B and his friends at The Area. I finally tried The Maximator properly to devastatingly awesome results (I don’t even know what I am saying!). I had a ton of fun and life srsly seems damn swimmy at the moment.

My head is still not clear I am going to tumble into bed. Hopefully I will meet Dan for tea later.
