when you say nothing at all.

Ok, expect a proper update here soon, but before all that, I feel compelled to share this potential atrocity with you guys.

My least favourite female trash pop singer covering my least favourite indie poseur emo trash song? Wow, there are just no words.

Ok, I haven’t heard her rendition of The Blower’s Daughter yet, but just to give you guys an idea of how awesome she is, here’s her version of I won’t last a day without you.

Somewhere, Karen Carpenter is rolling in her size zero grave.

so you can convince that I am pretty.

Camera Obscura was really charming. I didn’t really feel compelled to eject myself from my seat or anything like that, but I rather blissfully bopped along to their lovely tunes. I was really happy when they played Eighties Fan, and it was a delightful bonus when they covered Super Trouper.

I neglected to mention that on Sunday, we went and attended my cousin’s birthday party at my grandma’s place. He is 3 this year, and he is 23918231 kinds of adorable. I’d walk into the living room with a can of coke, and he’d dash up, point at what I am holding, and go “What’s that!”, in a sort of epiphany not dissimilar to a scientist’s “Eureka!” moment.

My aunt has also imparted her old Leica lenses to me, along with 2 thick photography books. Last night, she informed me that she has since found her old Yashica semi-auto, and that I am welcome to pick it up (and send it for refurbishing so that it can be used -.-) for myself anytime I want. I was seriously touched.

I think that, all things considered, I do love my family a lot, and I am quite regretful of the fact that I don’t see enough of them. I must put in a bit of effort into attending these family things. I feel sort of ashamed when I think that I was thinking of skipping the lunch for no reason at all, until my mum said, “Your por-por is so old already, you should go and see her before there is no time to do so.”

I am eating a tub of Ben and Jerry’s Cheesecake Brownie ice-cream now (it’s a new flavour, I think?). I think I could very well finish the whole tub, but my sister would kill me. I am missing a lot of people right now, and semi-dreading French lessons tomorrow. Good lord.

je m’appelle my lan lar.

French makes Japanese seem like a leisurely walk in the park.

And (this following part is gonna seem very, very negative but it’s actually not as bad as it seems lah) what I dreaded most essentially came true - very community centre-esque sort of setting, with lots of working women who thinks it’s cute to learn French, the teacher rattling off numerous French expressions, telling us this means this, that means that, without giving us any grammatical fundamentals. There was this particularly grating fat bitch who had obviously read in advance or something like that, who kept interrupting at every possible juncture, offering suggestions, telling us this means this (”right? -smiles-”) woah I wanted to hurl my pencil at her from across the room.

I’m sure it will get better, cos today’s session started off on a very bad note. Was awakened rudely from my afternoon nap by my alarm clock, and very reluctantly hauled my arse out of bed. Realised that I had yet to collect Camera Obscura tickets, and thusly scuttled down to Lot 1 to pick them up from Sistic. Figured that the bookshop at Alliance Francaise might only accept cash (MOELC has clearly left its mark on me), and thusly queued up for mother long at the ATM to withdraw cash for books. Arrived at AF at 6.57 (lesson was at 7), only to realise that the bookshop 1. accepted NETS and 2. also doubled as a Sisitc oulet, and felt like killing myself. Climbed 3 bloody storeys to find my classroom where I attended the lesson, nursing a headache. And a hungry stomach (obv. had no time for dinner).

On a slightly more pleasant note, The Job went nicely enough. The kids were late, and only 5 of them turned up, but they all seemed like an inquisitive, intelligent, good-natured bunch, and I really hope I can help them become better debaters. I found it amusing that the girls wasted no time in adding me MSN, while the boys couldn’t care less; one of them skipped training for a DOTA competition, and I literally LOL-ed at that.

OH GAWD I so don’t wanna go back to work tomorrow. Though, on a brighter note, Camera Obscura! =D

disaster button.

Shit, I’m slowly going crazy.

等晴天, 等雨天。

I created a really, really nice nua playlist for lazy weekend afternoons.

1. うそが本当に / ゆらゆら帝国 (Uso wa hontou ni / Yura Yura Teikoku)
2. Present / Bonnie Pink
3. roam in octave / Spangle call Lilli line
4. 等等 / 王菲
5. Human Racing / St. Vincent
6. Sanganichi / Shugo Tokumaru
7. I can hold your hand baby / the brilliant green
8. Beautiful Day / Chara
9. These Streets / Paolo Nutini
10. 80%完美的日子 / 陳綺貞
11. Intuition / Feist
12. Godspeed / Jenny Lewis
13. 好想要揮霍 / 盧廣仲
14. Strange Things Will Happen / The Radio Dept.
15. 月の光 / リリイ・シュシュのすべて ― オリジナル・サウンドトラック 「アラベスク」 (Debussy’s Clair de Lune from the OST of All About Lily Chou-chou)

I have acquired a shit load of new music and am too lazy to go listen to all of it. I have borrowed a David Mitchell novel whose title escapes me at the moment, as well as Howard’s End (about time!). I am basically too lazy to buckle down to read it all. Foreign novels translated into English somehow make for much more interesting reads. It’s really interesting to see how differently people think in different languages.

R and I tried to club last night; it was the epitome of abject failurism - we spent close to an hour in the queue, self-entertaining/zi-high by singing random songs and tsk-tsking people who deserved to be tsk-tsked. We also saw NCP (a certain shaggy RJ lit teacher), who was looming and wearing a very gangsta black hoodie. In the end, we gave up and went to watch The House Bunny (finally! x 2!) at Vivocity. The movie was GRATE, and I have a new idol in the form of Anna Faris who is superb with comic timing (and who is also kinda hot, in a very ang-moh Playboy centrefold sorta way).

I really should prepare for my stuff tomorrow!

(i) What if this storm ends?

The new Snow Patrol album……let’s just say that Final Straw is still their best work yet.

Today was generally nice and wholesome. Gorged myself during dinner with Rich; LaMeiZi currently ranks as best steamboat place in the Bugis area for me.

Finished shooting my first roll on my film SLR, finally. I can’t wait to get the lot processed!

小部屋が孤独を甘やかす。

There are 3 things I need to do.

forbidden colours.

Just finished Forbidden Colours.

I cannot begin to count the number of times Mishima has rendered me literally speechless.

short film.

Tomorrow, I shall finally gather up all my resolve and go register for driving lessons.

Am trying to snag another job; wish me luck!

kind of cold.

The more I think about it, the less I think I am to blame for this whole mess, really.

I need a good rip of the new Snow Patrol album; cannot take it.

Updates in my life:

1. Am confirmably getting a new phone, once new stock arrives.

2. Decided to do something constructive for a change, and have committed self to French lessons. Start in 2 weeks’ time!

3. This has been consuming my life of late.

4. Job also starts in 2 weeks, though I can’t be paid till I officially F-O from the Ass-Ey-Eff.

5. I need to add “warm salted veg and duck soup on rainy afternoons” to my Facebook interests.

More positivity, please!
