…the things I do for love.

For anyone of you who is familiar with Tokyo Jihen’s music - there was just one point during their set, the bit in OSCA where they break, and then accelerate at 2439283492384032mph, where I feared for my life. Basd choice #1 - never carry bulky bag to a rock fest.

So in midst of completely losing autonomy of my limbs, I had to make a quick decision - life, or Ringo-hime. I humji-ed and chose life. And thus concludes the sad story of my first day at RSR 08, of how I -willingly- relinquished my CHOICE spot RIGHT AT THE FRONT of the mosh (I’m talking ‘Ringo, your mascara’s smudging’ sort of distance), and went to the back to take a breather.

On a more optimistic note, the band looked SHARP. They were all dressed in kimonos/yukatas, and Ringo had cute hair, and her voice was Perfect.

Setlist!

1. Maru no uchi SADISTIC
2. LAMP
3. MIRRORBALL
4. Kabuki
5. OSCA
6. Pinocchio
7. KILLER TUNE
8. Kronekodow
9. Senkou shoujo

I wasn’t too crazy about the other bands I caught - Kuruli was decent, I guess, I must admit I really went nuts when they opened with WANDERVOGEL cos I don’t think they’ve played that in awhile. Remioromen was boring shite I wanted to slap the vocalist’s punk face. the pillows…….pretty awesome, actually. I will need to revisit their material.

I was gonna catch BARBEE BOYS after this but I’ve since decided that I’ve gig-ed enough. Now, to find somewhere to plant my arse at for the night. It is fucking freezing now and I am starting to regret not getting a tent site etc. And I want food.

Though.

Has it been worth it thus far? The shit, the mad moshing, the near-death experience?

Absolutely. 2000%

EDIT

OMG I CAN HEAR BARBEE BOYS PLAY ‘C’MON LET’S GO’ 2 TENTS AWAY! SO EXCITES!
