I am, once more, a sediment.

Wow the events of the day today just seem so surreal. Did I really, like, see 4 Japanese bands all at one go? Did I really nearly fracture my pinky finger while getting shoved around by a particularly nasty (fat) Japanese punk? Did I really come close to freezing to death in the deathly cold outskirts of Hokkaido?

Fortunately, or otherwise, the answer is yes.

So you know, I was thought about it and as much as I hated to deny it, my mother won - there’s no way I was gonna spend a night at the festival site freezing my arse off. So I hopped on (I make it sound very easy here but the length of the queue was about the distance between RJ and J8) the shuttle bus back to Asabu station to make alternative plans.

Obviously, every mother hotel place must have been fully booked since everybody’s in town for Obon/RSR/Godknows what, so I was muchly prepared to spend the night, sheltered, at a 24hr Yoshinoya (yes, they open 24hrs here) or something. Fortunately, I spied with my little eye, 2 angmohs, and literally pounced on them, like, ‘HAY, YOU SPEAK ENGLISH, RITE? RITE?’ and they totally fell in love with me (they are Swedish) and they brought me to this internet cafe I am now spending the night at……

……which is AWESOME. For 1500yen, you get, for 8 hours a private cubicle (almost private lah, can peek in from top if you tip-toe), internet access, free flow of drinks (wah got alot to choose from, more Calpis Soda later, pls), and you can even play PS2 if you want! I am in total awe.

Actually, I have been very lucky to have met so many awesome people thus far. Like, I could totally have been still at the festival site, freezing away, buying ridiculously overpriced food (200yen for a sausage on a skewer, wtf?), and been miserable. Instead, I am here, warm, safe, and happy having spoken to lots of familiar people on MSN. I is a happy duck now.

I am not a very good person, and am not very good with the things I do, but I must say I have met alot of 贵人s in my life thus far, and for that I am thankful.
